social networks easiest to generate traffic

If you’re serious about your internet business, social networking is a critical element to your success. Social networking has really taken off in the past 18 months with sites like Facebook and Myspace paving the way for the industry. Social networking is predominantly used as a way of communicating between friends and family but can be a lucrative outlet for those who now how to use social networking to their advantage.

If you have any type of online business, you can use social networking to establish yourself as an authority in your industry. Regardless of how you decide to promote your online business, you want to make sure you focus on one thing and become an expert on that topic. Too many people become a jack of all trades but never really conquer any of them. If you want to be successful in online business find something that interests you and become the expert.

Here are 4 tips you can use to master social networking:

1. Establish credibility. Without credibility no-one is going to listen to what you have to say as you haven’t proven yourself. Why should they listen to you when there are so many other so called “gurus” out there with a proven track record? To establish credibility, you’ll want to firstly create a profile on your chosen social networking site, then set up a blog and invite others to become your friend. Once you have built up a large number of friends you can create and distribute products to them, but you first must establish credibility so setup your network before you promote anything. Generally provide a lot of free information whilst building your list of friends.

2. Build an army of followers. Like I said before, without first establishing yourself as an authority, no-one is going to listen to what you have to say. You can use social networking to first off build an army of followers by educating everyone through your blog and then gradually build up your list of friends. Invite more and more friends as you go. Before you know it, you’ll have an army of online followers who you can distribute products to and earn a regular online income.

3. Create and distribute. Next you want to give away free information on your blog, so your friends will begin to respect and understand what it is you have to offer. You can create free video tutorials using Camtasia software that walks people through a particular online technique or write insider articles that reveal hidden secrets not normally shared. You could also give away turnkey products that your friends can sell as their own, giving them full resell rights.

4. Build a viral website. Who said banner advertising and Google Adsense is dead? There is still a lot of money to be made via high traffic sites that use these methods of advertising. If you create a popular website that entices visitors to keep coming back for more and leverage this through social networking, you’ll have a successful website up and running in no time.

If you’re serious about generating loads of free traffic to your website, social networking is one of the easiest ways to do so. Educate yourself a little and then dive straight in, learning the rest as you go. The quickest way to master traffic generation through social networking is like many things, practice, practice, practice. for more information of the same or just fun visit http://lesasluckylotto.yolasite.com

Get Free Traffic From Social Networking

What is social Networking?

In the broadest of senses, social networking can be defined as an online community of people who share similar interests, likes, or activities. These sites are web or internet based, and they provide the community the ability to communicate with one another through various platforms, such as email, instant messaging, bookmarking, or web based platforms.

There’s been such a buzz over the past few months about Web 2.0 or some of its other names like Social Networking or Social Marketing.  You’ve heard all the names: MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, Squidoo, but you don’t really understand how to leverage those sites to drive traffic back to your website.

Traffic to these sites is immense.  How big you ask?  In going to Alexa, I pulled up the traffic statistics on Facebook, the most popular of all the social networking sites.  Over 10% of all internet users world wide visit Facebook.  To put that number into comparison Reuters, which is seen as the trusted world wide site for news in the English language, pulls in on average only 0.35% of internet traffic.  In simpliest terms, Facebook pulls in 20 times the traffic as Reuters, and the numbers are similar when looking at MySpace as well.

The best part about getting traffic from these networks is the cost.  It’s absolutely free traffic.  For marketers who’ve used pay per click advertising to generate traffic, they see the value of this type of traffic immediately.  Free targeted traffic can add so much to the bottom line of each of your marketing campaigns.

Another great thing about these sites is that the search engines absolutely love them because they give the search engines the one thing that they crave, FRESH CONTENT.  These sites are updated many times per day each and every day.  They tend to have tremendous page rank, and links to your site from one of these hubs is great for helping your webpage rank higher in the search engines.

What makes using these sites tough for marketers is that all of these sites don’t like marketers using them as a place to plaster their website and/or affiliate links.  If you happen to go too far over the line, they tend to ban you, and that isn’t going to help you generate traffic.

So, that leads us to the big question.  How do you go about using these sites to drive traffic (FREE traffic) back to your website?  Wouldn’t it be great if there was a step by step guide to show you exactly what you need to do and how to go about doing it?

I’ve found a guide that does just that.  It’s called Social Traffic Explosion, and it’s a comprehensive video series that shows you exactly how to do it.  These 8 videos show you step by step exactly the plan that experienced marketers use to generate massive amounts of targeted traffic from these sites.

The videos will show you everything, from first registering your username, setting up your profile, and customizing your profile with the purpose of generating traffic back to your money producing webpages.

Traffic Generation Tips To Explode Your Business

Traffic generation is the key to an online business success. No Traffic means No Business. You could have the best product, best sales letter in the world but if no one knows about it sales are going to be very low. Bottom line is getting traffic is crucial.

Traffic generation are the marketing techniques you apply to generating leads for your business and building a massive database which overtime will convert into customers. There are off line and online marketing methods.

For the purpose of this article I will cover predominantly online methods for you to get started but there are hundreds of different techniques you can use to get traffic to your business.

Traffic generation or lead generation for any business tyically requires a cost which is significantly higher cost than getting a customer to buy more products from you, therefore, it is very important to great conversion strategies and retention strategies in place once your business is up and running so you can improve your bottom line.

Today technology is advanced and to many people often a daunting task and for that very reason may stop people from investing into Internet Marketing strategies to help increase sales. If this is the case I would do one of two things. First, I would look to employ someone who specialises in traffic generation. There are people out there today who do this as a full time job. Pay the professionals. Second, I would look to invest some time and money into self education. Alternatively, look towards a mentor or a coach to help you achieve your desired outcome.

Traffic Generation Techniques

There are 100s of ways to generate traffic to your site ranging from offline to online traffic. Some techniques will have a significant cost, others will be FREE, for example, saying to someone at a party here is my business card go and have a look at my site. So open your mind, you may focus on a couple of different methods to start with and then branch out with some more advanced strategies later after you have developed your skills and mastered some of the traffic generation techniques.

Here are a few to kick start your business

Low to No Cost Methods

1. Tell a friend

As mentioned above you surely have a few friends that may be interested. You obviously have a friendship so you may not want to do a hard sell but why dont you just say, I have just joined this program online, it is a way I am looking at making a bit of extra cash if you want to have a look here is the address. Then they can make there mind up yourself. You will probably already have a few people in mind that would most likely jump at the concept.

2. E-Mail

You can send out a group e-mail to all your friends, if they are not interested kindly just ask them to send it on to people that may be interested. If you are advanced you could look into setting up an auto responder. The system has an auto responder working on your behalf to convert your leads, however, we have personally introduced our own auto responder to improve our relationship with our leads to convert to m1 consultants or upgrading consultants from m1 to m3. The other value of our auto responder is we are going to provide valuable e-mails to help all consultants in our team build their business.

3. Social Networking Groups

Groups such as myspace, facebook, youtube are great ways you can sell your product. There are groups on social networking sites that you can join yourself; you can set up a page and just network with people. I joined facebook and had a number of people I had not spoken to in years find me, some of them were actually people that are interested in what I am doing now and have invested money into some business mentoring, and purchased products. You will be surprised at the power of these mediums to generate traffic to your site.

4. Buy a Baby Name Book

This is out there thinking but by going through the names in the book it my spark a thought of someone you know with that name that you can contact and direct them to your site. While not a traditional method, it is cost effective and certainly a way to spark your memory on someones name and then contact them and try to get them to look at your site.

5. Blogging

Blogging is probably a more advanced strategy but it can be free by joining wordpress.com, or blogger.com and setting up a blog post which is effectively an online diary.

This certainly helps drive traffic to your site, it helps build rapport with your customers and creates a connection. Blogging also helps with search engine optimisation.

Some other advanced blogging strategies including

a)Commenting on other peoples blogs and adding your URL on their blog

b)Submit your blog to directories. Directories such as Digg.com and Decicious.com have heaps of traffic.

c)List your products in your blog rolls

d)Google Adsense (listed below)

e)Product reviews with a resource box at the end of the review

f)Give your blog content for other people to use

6. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

SEO is the process of ranking your website in the free part of Google or other search engines. Google looks at the code of each website and ranks your site based on a number of features. It is obviously important to get as close to the top as possible because that increases your chances of making a sale or having people click onto your website. The first thing Google looks at is the title tag at the top of the page and the last thing is the bottom right hand of the page. It is known as the first and last principle. You want to have the same keyword at the top and bottom of the page. Some other key features that help with page rank include page title, meta description tag, meta key word tag. This is a simplified look at SEO and can be effected by a number of off page strategies also but if you at least do the basics you will improve your chances of generating some more traffic.

7. Google Ad Words

Google Ad Words is effectively paying for your leads. You put an ad up and when people click on the ad it will cost you money. It can be costly if you do not have any idea on what you are doing. My advice is only start exploring this avenue once you are either generating sales and have some cash to invest in marketing strategies or are very savvy in this area. In saying all that it is a great way to build a database and make some sales once you understand how to do it properly.

8. Zango

Very similar to setting up a Google ad words campaign. It is an online media company that gives people free access to games, videos and other online entertainment. In return for the free content they agree to view targeted advertising.

9 eBay

There are over 270 million people on eBay holding a credit card in their hands. Therefore, for any business in the world I would suggest if you want to get an online presence and do not understand Internet Marketing have an eBay business and set up your store. You can not directly direct traffic from eBay however there are a number of people that creatively send traffic from their eBay business to their Internet business.

10. Google Ad Sense

You can advertise on other peoples websites and blogs and it is a pay per click method. Internet Marketers advertise their products on their own websites because it increases sales significantly.

11. Articles

You can submit articles to article submission websites. Great examples of article submission websites include articlemarketer.com and you can direct the traffic to a specific site. With article submission the subject line is crucial. Like Google adwords and Zango you need to use great key words in your subject line that you think people would put in the search section of Google to find your product. Another important thing to understand with articles is that you only want to advertise at the end of the article and in particular in the authors resource box. Have great content in the article and then they will want to buy your product at the end of the article and then from the authors resource box send them to a forced opt-in page. On the forced opt in offer a free report, newsletter or some form of free gift and then once they have opted into your page have a sales letter with the product. In this instance you drive your traffic to your site and once people opt into your page you will have an auto responder set up to convert your leads.

12. Create products to give away

Another traffic generation technique is to create products. You could write an eBook, create a video or audio and with your product you could promote throughout the product. One method is create a product and give the resale rights to your product. You advertise at the start of the product and the end of the product and maybe with a footer at the bottom of the page. You give people the rights to sell your eBook and keep all the money and the trade off is you can get traffic and branding. That is a win win situation.

13. Hiring someone to drive the traffic

If you are not technically minded, or are not interested in self-education I would strongly recommend you pay someone to drive the traffic to the site. There are plenty of people you can pay to do it for you. Obviously, you would want to budget for this and like any business you need to have a budget for marketing, your budget is set up for outsourcing traffic generation.

14. Affiliate marketing

Save the best for last

Regarded as the greatest way to market your product is by affiliate marketing and giving people commissions for making a sale on your behalf.

These techniques will certainly improve your ability to make a sale and generate sales for you business. As suggested, improve your self help knowledge on traffic generation because once you know how to drive traffic to a site you certainly have significant power in generating more sales and profit for your business. Once again you can have the best product and the best sales letter in the world but if you can not drive traffic to the site you do not have a business.

Traffic Cameras

Traffic cameras are an important aspect of the transportation system in the United States. They are not the same thing as red light cameras, which are used to take pictures and video of motorists running red lights, sending the picture and ticket to the culprit. In fact, traffic cameras are used for a much different thing. Traffic cameras are used to monitor the flow of traffic, watch for accidents and other safety issues on the highway. These cameras are also helpful when it comes to figuring out which route motorists should take when heading to work, school, shopping, the big game or to family events.

Traffic cameras can be placed at intersections or anywhere else along a roadway that the local Department of Transportation seems fit. They are usually mounted to a traffic light at an intersection or on their own pole anywhere else on the roadway. They are most common on highways, freeways, motorways, auto routes and expressways. They are connected with optical fibers, which are buried either alongside the highway or underneath the highway.

The cameras are controlled at a main monitoring center where they can be turned, zoomed in, zoomed out and powered down. At the monitoring center, the feed comes in live, and the employees are trained to watch for accidents, vehicle fires, rollovers, congestion and any other safety problem that could arise on the roads. Traffic cameras are used more often than not for traffic reporting services. If the cameras are run by the state’s Department of Transportation, then traffic reporting services in the area usually have access to them to accurately report backups, delays, gridlock, accidents, road closures and construction zones.

When traffic cameras are being monitored, the employees at the main monitoring base are there to dispatch road assistance for flat tires and stalled vehicles and to dispatch emergency services for accidents, vehicle fires, rollovers and for anyone that is having a health problem while on the roadway. Traffic cameras are used in underwater tunnels and tunnels that run through mountains all across the United States. When traveling in a tunnel, motorists usually lose their cell phone service because they are underwater or inside of the Earth.

By having traffic cameras in tunnels, the monitoring station can notify local police, fire and EMS of any accidents or safety problems inside the tunnel since the motorists will not be able to use their cell phones. Having traffic cameras inside tunnels makes it easier and quicker to dispatch emergency services, which some cameras can do remotely, via different sensors placed within the tunnel near the cameras.

The use of traffic cameras on the roadways, when dispatching emergency services, is helpful because the emergency services can be placed at a certain mile marker. The monitoring center has a log of all the cameras in their jurisdiction and at what mile marker the cameras are located. This allows for quicker response time by emergency services because they can plug the mile marker into their computer and navigate directly to the site of the incident.

Vehicle Telematics May Help Reduce Traffic Accidents

Recent advancements in telematics have allowed vehicle manufacturers to catapult their products into science fiction-like quality. Experts believe in the near future we will see such technology as self-driving automobiles, automatic car rental systems and theft protection so advanced it will be virtually impossible to steal a vehicle and dismantle it for parts.

Vehicle telematics are already being applied in ways the average American driver might never guess: collecting road tolls, pricing auto insurance and tracking fleet vehicle locations. Additional applications include recovering stolen vehicles, providing auto collision notification and location-driven driver information services (in particular, dedicated short range communications or DSRC). Then, there are early warning notification alerts, remote diagnostics and on-demand navigation. The list of ways in which telematics are utilized just goes on and on.

Many scholars believe this kind of technology will be increasingly applied to road safety and, thus, one of its main applications beyond entertainment, convenience and repair systems. Because of telematics’ ability to make possible the interchanging of electronic data between previously unconnected devices, it may play an important role in reducing – someday even eliminating – injuries and deaths related to traffic accidents. Gadgets like connectivity devices and advanced Global Positioning Systems (GPS) extend beyond their convenience value; they are, essentially, beginning the application of research that may eventually save lives.

Short range wireless connectivity protocols have transformed the business community, but for those who want to stay connected during commutes, there’s more than just that option nowadays. Connectivity devices produced by specific manufacturers now connect not only to hands-free telephone equipment but also to music players, smart phones, handhelds and music phones. For the slightly more demanding business consumer, in-vehicle, high-value satellite modems link up with two-way satellite modems designed for use with low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks, enabling remote asset tracking and global monitoring. Leaving a small footprint, these satellite modems were developed for the Machine-To-Machine (M2M) market and “modem only” applications.

Telematics modules may satisfy the consumer craving more enhanced in-vehicle connectivity and safety. Such modules integrate phone capabilities, global positioning satellite receivers and digital signal processing to enable communication between vehicles and response centers. By accessing a vehicle’s data bus, the response center can provide navigation assistance, remote diagnostics, remote door lock/unlock, and other services for better safety and security. The GPS can provide vehicle location identification, enabling a stolen vehicle to be tracked and emergency services to be accessed quickly. Collision detection and call center notification provide an added buffer of safety, and such systems can even be customized to specific vehicle architectures.

For the growing number of those in the business community who need higher-tech options to stay competitive, in-vehicle high-value telematics systems are available. High-value systems offer two-way satellite modems for communication over LEO satellite networks and a complete hardware solution to track, monitor and communicate with fixed and mobile assets around the world. Such systems may also offer bay compartments that allow for custom-specific hardware to meet those businesses’ individual marketing requirements. They are weatherproof, radio frequency (RF) visible and allow for the addition of wireless capabilities-a huge advantage in communications. Those in the transportation, heavy equipment, marine, aeronautical and other M2M markets stand to gain the most advantage with high-value telematics systems.

Computers can respond to a situation in approximately 0.3 seconds, as opposed to the human reaction time of one-half to one full second, according to a prominent researcher. If these sorts of telematics can be integrated into automobile systems to not only keep people connected, but to also help them avoid deadly traffic accidents, then society may be well on its way to living up to science-fiction standards.

Online Marketing, Local Search and Mobile Search to Drive Six-Fold Increase in Internet Traffic

Recent survey numbers highlight how Internet traffic is growing exponentially and is poised for a 600% increase by 2012. The huge increase in Internet traffic comes at a time when the convergence of mobile search technologies and local search capabilities will drive the growth of online marketing, local search and mobile search to similar heights – while driving foot traffic to businesses large and small that have a “digital footprint” in today’s surging digital economy.

Staggering numbers from worldwide networking leader Cisco Systems predict a six-fold increase in global traffic on the Internet, highlighting the increasingly important role online marketing and internet advertising will play for businesses large and small as consumers increasingly move online to do both shopping and “Windows shopping”. Cisco released its Visual Networking Index (VNI) Forecast for 2007-2012 on June 16th, which predicts that we will see a 600% increase in Internet traffic by 2012. Cisco’s VNI projections predicts that Internet traffic will double roughly every two years as a result of “a combined annual growth rate of 46 p[er cent form 2007 to 2012.

The key component in this surge of Internet traffic will be video streaming. Cisco predicts that by 2012, “video traffic alone will be 400 times the traffic carried over the U.S. portion of the Internet in 2000. Increasingly, marketing agencies and advertisers are moving off traditional media and moving online to exploit the consumer movement to the Internet. Significantly, much of this consumer movement online will result from the increasing tendency of consumers to access the Internet from handheld mobile devices – a trend that will only increase as RIM, Nokia and other cellular phone and mobile device manufacturers move to keep pace with Apple that just recently released its next-generation 3G iPhone.

Cisco is predicting that mobile data will roughly double each year from 2008 to 2012, highlighting the importance that mobile search will play in an emerging digital economy. Jupiter Research, a leader in online research analysis, has projected that annual revenue from mobile search revenues are expected to hit $US4.8 billion dollars annually by 2013.

As technologies converge, the driver behind these anticipated huge jumps in online advertising and mobile search numbers is – not surprisingly for those who have been tracking the emerging technologies of Web 2.0 – local search. Jupiter predicts that in the emerging digital economy, local search will be the most popular service amongst all advertisers and will attract 40% of all mobile search ad spending between 2008 and 2013.

The convergence of technologies that is fostering the growth in mobile search, and particularly local search, was illustrated by Google CEO, Eric Schmidt. Sitting down for a much-publicized interview with CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo earlier this spring, the head of the search engine giant touted how improvements in mobile search capabilities on advanced mobile handhelds (such as the BlackBerry or Apple’s iPhone) combined with advances in Google Maps and Google’s local search capabilities are making real time, and precise geopraphic local search a reality.

”(W)henever I fly somewhere,” Schmidt told CNBC, “I open up … my iPhone or my BlackBerry, and, boom, there’s everything in my world as I’ve landed in a country I’ve never been in. It’s a remarkable achievement.” Schmidt notes that Google has been tracking the huge increase in use of Google Maps local search technology. “(T)here’s been a huge increase in maps, Google Maps, hugely successful,” Dr. Schmidt reports. “(W)hen I want to go to the equivalent of a Starbucks, I just type “Starbucks,” it says it’s over there. For me, that’s just a huge–a huge improvement. And that service is available almost everywhere in the world.”

What is common practice for Google’s high-flying and technologically enriched CEO is increasingly becoming commonplace for the digital consumer on the street. The predicted growth in internet traffic, together with the radical shift of advertising dollars to online marketing and the growing tendency of Internet-savvy consumers to take up mobile search, clearly forecast where commerce and e-commerce is headed. While there may still be local niche markets that depend on foot traffic to drive their business, increasingly it is a company’s digital footprint that drives customer traffic to its online site or storefront. And the vehicle driving that electronic traffic is mobile search. As online traffic balloons between now and 2012, the importance on local search, mobile search and online marketing will also balloon.

Social Networking: 7 Steps to More Traffic by Connecting and Repurposing Your Social Marketing

Copyright (c) 2008 OnlineBizU.com

I’m lazy by nature and like to do as little work as possible. Therefore, when I have the opportunity to automate tasks, I jump at it. As I started getting heavily involved in social networking, I quickly became frustrated with having to update my status at several sites, as well as trying to figure out how to introduce my blog, my articles, and my ezine to my social networking audiences.

After much trial and error, here’s how I connect and repurpose all of my social marketing strategies:

1. Set up accounts. Make sure that you have current accounts with Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, MySpace, and any other social networking platforms you regularly use.

2. Open an account at Ping.fm. The Ping.fm service automatically updates your status on all of your social networking sites, 21 of them at the current count. Depending on the number of networks you use, it will take you 10-50 minutes to connect your Ping.fm account to your various social network accounts. However, once everything is set up, you simply log into your Ping account, post your status update (no more than 140 characters), and your status is automatically updated on all of your social networking profiles. Rather than posting updates directly on Twitter or Facebook or MySpace, I instead use Ping.fm as the starting place for my daily status updates.

3. Display Twitters on other accounts. If you go to your Setting tab in your Twitter account and then down to “More Info URL”, you will see a link to “Add Twitter to Your Site.” By clicking on this link, you’ll be taken to a page where you can add your tweets in a separate box (not the Status updates area) in your MySpace and Facebook profiles, on your blogger or Typepad blogs, or get the Flash or HTML widgets to add to other sites like Squidoo lenses or to your website. Just follow the instructions connected to each application. If you use Typepad for your blog, you can also do this through the Widget gallery by finding Twitter widget in the “Publishing Tools” section.

4. Connect your blogposts to Twitter. Twitter Feed, http://www.twitterfeed.com/, enables you to feed your blog posts to your Twitter account. Simply create an account, go to “Create New Twitter Feed”, and enter the RSS feed of your blog. You can control the frequency with which Twitter displays your blog post, as well as the text used to preface your blog feed. I use “Blog update” to preface my posts.

5. Connect your blogposts to Facebook. I use Typepad for my blogs, so if you use a Wordpress blog, there are probably plugins that handle this, as well. When you create a new blog post, you can choose to send a link to that post into Facebook. These links will appear in your Mini-Feed on your Facebook profile, and may appear in your friends’ News Feeds.

In your Typepad account, go to Weblogs > Configure > Publicity, select “Prompt me to share new posts on Facebook.” When this item is selected, TypePad will automatically display a prompt from Facebook when you create and publish a new post on TypePad. The Facebook prompt will only appear if you have selected the option in your weblog’s publicity settings, and only when you create and publish a new post. The prompt will not appear when you save a post as draft, when you edit a post, or when you change the status of a post from Draft to Published.

6. Update your EzineArticles.com account. Article marketing is a smart and easy way to drive traffic to your site. If you’re submitting articles online to article directories, you definitely want to be using EzineArticles.com, the biggest and most popular article directory online. To connect to Twitter, click on “Profile Manager” in your account, then “Edit Author Bio” in your Author’s Area. Add your Twitter account information here. Each time a new article is accepted and published at EzineArticles, a post is automatically made to your Twitter account.

7. Update your aWeber account: I use aWeber as my email marketing service. You can now send an automatic Twitter post to all your followers on Twitter with a link to the HTML version of your ezine. When you create a broadcast in aWeber, select the option to publish a broadcast via RSS feed or to an archive, and then enter your Twitter account info, When your ezine is published, all of your Twitter followers will be notified.

There are probably others ways to connect the social networks and to repurpose content on social networks, but these 7 steps are all I need at the moment. Take 30 minutes out of your day to connect and repurpose your social networking, and watch your traffic and list begin to grow!
